Nov. 7

Like father, like son
8:09 p.m. — 800 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Obstruction. A juvenile confronted police and was arrested. His intoxicated father showed up to bail him out. The father became hostile toward deputies, refused to comply with commands and was arrested and placed in custody with his son.

Nov. 9
Damage control

5:25 p.m. — 5800 block of Ranch Lake Boulevard. Property Damage. Someone keyed the passenger side of a woman’s car in a parking lot while she was shopping for 20 minutes. Damage to the car was estimated at $500.

Nov. 11
Backyard brawl

6:52 p.m. — 1100 block of Hagle Park Road. Battery. A boy was playing in the woods behind his house and got into a fight with his friend, who picked him up and threw him to the ground and wouldn’t let him up. He was finally able to break free and ran home and told his mom about the incident.

Nov. 12
Copper theft sting

2:58 a.m. — 7300 block of 47th Avenue Circle East. Burglary. Someone entered a home under construction in the middle of the night and stole copper wire. Two other homes in the neighborhood were also burglarized in the same manner.

Homework meltdown
9:58 p.m. — 14700 block of Second Avenue Circle Northeast. Runaway. A woman told police her son got mad after they argued over his homework and went out on the patio to calm down. She realized he left the patio and was missing. Family members found the 13-year-old boy in an adjoining neighborhood before police began to search for him.

Nov. 13
Move your tent

7:45 a.m. — 3600 block of 31st Street East. Trespassing. A homeowner association president told police he wanted a homeless man who kept sleeping in a tent in a wooded area behind the subdivision trespassed from the property. The man complied, packed up his tent and left the area.

Nov. 14
Car trouble

4:10 a.m. — 6000 block of State Road 64 East. Abandoned Automobile. While on a call, police observed a vehicle sitting in the middle of State Road 64 East with the hazard lights on. There was no driver in sight for the car. The vehicle was towed.

Out of control
8:19 a.m. — 800 block of Fairway Cove Lane. Battery. A husband and wife got into an argument that escalated when they began throwing objects in their house at each other’s heads.

For whom the bell tolls
3:42 p.m. — 3200 block of 38th Avenue East. Runaway. A juvenile left a middle school without permission before the final bell rang and police were notified of the suspect’s absence from school.

Street justice
5:38 p.m. — 7600 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Battery. Three men approached a man in the street. Two of the men began to punch him and then fled the scene. Police found the suspects, who explained they had an issue with the man in the past and decided to “initiate street justice.” The victim declined to press charges.

Nov.15
Troubles at home

12:02 a.m. — 6500 block of State Road 70 East. Runaway. A woman reported that her son is going to school in the morning and not returning home after school. She called police after her son didn’t come home after A Friday night high school football game.

Saved by the alarm
1:52 p.m. — 7900 block of Suntree Glenn. Attempted Burglary. Someone made entry into a home, but the alarm went off and she fled the area before taking anything.
