Dec. 9
Lost call

12:49 p.m. — 6200 block of River Club Boulevard. Petit Theft from Building. A middle school student reported someone stole her cell phone from her locker during physical education class. She has the class seventh period, and she put the phone in the locker without locking it. It was the end of the day, so the theft was not reported. The phone is gold in color. The deputy called the number, but the call went straight to voicemail.

Dec. 14
Horse sense

10:22 a.m. — 2800 block of Verna Bethany Road. Information Only. An anonymous complainant reported she was driving by a pasture, where she saw a brown-and-white horse in a field that is overgrown. She believed the condition of the horse was poor. The deputy checked the pasture but did not locate the horse. No one was at the residence at the time. The deputy spoke to a neighbor, who stated the owner no longer lives at the property but someone comes out to drop off a bail of hay for the horse at least once a week and the horse has access to a lake for water.

Grinch grab
11:20 a.m. — 800 block of Kay Road Northeast. Burglary of an Occupied Conveyance. Unknown person(s) removed a lock off the shed but did not remove anything. However, unknown persons removed two boxes containing Christmas lights from an adjacent storage area under the house.

Dec. 15
Trash to treasure

2:27 p.m. — 8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Obtain Property Under $20,000. The complainant stated a suspicious gray Buick with five scruffy-looking white males came to his business shortly before 1:30 p.m. Two suspects presented five receipts with products for refunds totaling $27.63. It is believed the suspects took the receipts from receptacles at other Advanced Auto Parts stores in the area, then the suspects entered the store, picked up the items listed on the receipt and went to the checkout counter for a refund.

Forged check
3 p.m. — 7800 Ashley Circle. Pass Counterfeit/Forgery. The victim reported her niece allegedly forged her signature on one of her personal checks and cashed the latter without her authorization.

Dec. 16
Threatening texts

8:26 p.m. — 7800 block of Eagle Creek Drive. Suspicious Circumstance. A couple reported their roommate was moving out that day and started sending them threatening text messages. He had moved out by the time police arrived but left behind his mattress. The couple left the mattress outside in case he returned.

Sack snatcher
11:44 p.m. — 3200 block of University Parkway. Robbery — Unarmed. The victim and the witness were depositing money at the location when the suspect approached the victim, snatched the bag of money and fled the area on foot.
