The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

June 30
 Drug detour

2:15 p.m. — Northbound Interstate 75 at State Road 70. Possession of Cannabis not more than 20 Grams. The deputy responded to conduct a DUI investigation. The deputy took the defendant into custody. The deputy had the defendant’s vehicle towed from the scene.

July 1
 Decal damage

3:05 p.m. — 6300 block of Longleaf Pine Court. Petit Theft from a Vehicle. The victim reported unknown person(s) stole his decal off his license plate. The victim realized it was missing June 29.

July 3
 Credit crunch

9:06 p.m. — 5100 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Burglary — Miscellaneous. The victim reported he was using the gym. He left the facility and took his keys from the peg holder. He then unlocked his vehicle. As the victim placed his gym membership card in his wallet, he realized items were missing. Unknown person(s) used a missing credit card at Target to attempt a $3,000 purchase. The unknown suspects were declined the transaction.

July 4
 Wallet found

10:30 a.m. — 6300 block of Yellowtop Drive. Found Property. The reporting party came into the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office to turn in a wallet she had found around 6 a.m. in her front yard. Deputies contacted the owner of the wallet. He came to the sheriff’s office and was verified as its owner. All contents were in the wallet, and deputies returned it to its owner.

Card theft
12:24 p.m. — 6000 block of Ferndell Street. Fraud/Use and Possession of ID of Another without Consent. The victim reported unknown person(s) used his personal debit card information to make a fraudulent transaction without his consent.

Stacked backpack
12:58 pm. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Petit/Grand Theft — Shoplifting. The loss-prevention officer observed the suspect conceal two bicycle lights, torch fuel, batteries, beer and a cutter in his backpack. The suspect then proceeded past all points of sale without paying for the items. The suspect exited the store, but the loss-prevention officer stopped him. The suspect had personal items in the backpack, including a fan and boots. The items taken from the store were returned. The suspect was wearing a neck brace and complained of neck pain. He stated he had broken his neck in two places about two weeks ago. At that time, he was treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The deputy transported to the suspect to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Construction trespass
2:30 p.m. — 19400 block of Beacon Park Place. Theft $300 to $5,000 and Trespass on a Construction Site. Unknown person(s) went to the location and entered through an open side garage door. Once inside, the subject(s) stole property and fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Driveway drive away
8:09 p.m. — 600 block of 67th Street Circle E. Trespass Warning. The victim alleged his vehicle was taken from his driveway. The incident occurred while the victim was at his residence. The victim did not see or hear anything during the incident. The victim said he suffers from a traumatic brain injury and has trouble with memory loss. The victim was not able to provide information about the incident, except that he drove the vehicle and parked it in his front driveway.

Sound off
10:45 p.m. — 6200 block of River Club Boulevard. Open Door/Window. The deputy arrived at the school in response to an alarm call. He and the security officer located an open door that had caused the alarm to trip. The security officer said he saw what appeared to be a white female fleeing from the school property. He could not provide any further description.

July 5
 Animal attack

11:26 a.m. — 24600 block of State Road 64 E. Animal Bites. According to the victim, he was at the location when he noticed two German shepherds mauling two of his cows. When he attempted to stop the attack, the dogs attacked him. One dog was shot and killed. Animal services took the other dog.

Found family
3:03 p.m. — 600 block of 67th Street Circle E. Information Only. The deputy was dispatched to the hotel to attempt to contact a person on behalf of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which was investigating a missing-person report involving the subject. The deputy contacted the subject, who said she was fine. The deputy advised the subject to contact her daughter, who was filing the report.
