The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Feb. 4
Identity crisis
11:40 a.m. — 6100 block of 46th Lane East
. Fraudulent use/possession of another’s ID without consent. The victim reported an unauthorized unknown person(s) used her personal information and security number to open two fraudulent accounts.

Feb. 5
It’s all fun and games …
10:30 a.m. — 5100 block of 45th Avenue East. 
Neighborhood disturbance. The complainant was letting his children shoot a paintball gun in front of his residence. The children accidentally shot their neighbor’s boat with a paintball, which didn’t cause any damage. The complainant cleaned the paint off the boat with a water hose and admitted he is in charge of the children when they are shooting the paintball gun. The complainant alleged when the paintball accidentally struck the neighbor’s boat, he got irate and yelled, “I’m going to light your house up.” The complainant took his statement as a threat and demanded a report. The responding deputy spoke to both parties, and they stated they wouldn’t have words or contact with one another. The complainant also stated he wouldn’t shoot the paintball gun again.

Feb. 6
Word to yo mutha
11:02 a.m. — 6400 block of Prospect Road.
Found property. The complainant reported he found a notebook at the end of his driveway. The notebook contained some hateful and foul language. Some of the prose seemed to be in rap and rhyme and spoke of death. The notebook was placed into property at District One.

Tool time
11:23 a.m. — 2400 block of Lena Road.
Unarmed burglary to a conveyance. Unknown person(s) entered the locked tool bins attached to the parked Ford F-700 work truck. Once inside, the person(s) stole several items and then fled in an unknown direction.

Feb. 7
Shocker
11:08 a.m. — 7400 block of Fairlinks Court.
Fraudulent use/possession of another’s ID without consent. The victim reported an unknown person(s) his personal information without his authorization. The victim became aware of the theft when his bank contacted him because the Internal Revenue Service put a levy on his account for $21,000. The victim then made contact with the IRS, and it told him the levy was placed because his Social Security number was used in California to claim gambling winnings. The victim required a case number to dispute the levy that was placed on his account with the IRS.

Passport problem
11:36 a.m. — 7600 block of Alicia Lane. Lost property. The complainant reported she lost her Venezuelan passport. She said she believes it was lost in the process of moving. The complainant required a law enforcement case number to be issued a new passport.

Message mystery
12:15 p.m. — 6200 block of Willet Court. Information. The complainant reported a suspicious circumstance. He stated he received a text message from an unknown number, (717) 805-2678, that said “I keep her locked in the basement.” The complainant wasn’t sure to whom the text message was referring.
