Sept. 1

STUCK IN STUPID

13000 block of Adventure Place, Bradenton

Criminal mischief: Two vehicles were driving around the Adventure Park even though the park was barricaded off because it was flooded due to the topical storm. The Sheriff's Office responded to find the cars had driven on the soccer field, causing an estimated $500 or more of damage to the field by tearing up the grass and digging ruts in the turf. The second vehicle was stuck in the middle of the field. All parties were escorted off the property without incident. Both vehicles were covered in mud and were being operated by the two suspects. 

Sept. 4

HER CUP RUNNETH OVER, AGAIN

8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota

Trespass warning: A woman entered a fast food restaurant, purchased fries and asked for a water cup. The excited the building and went to her car. Soon afterward, she returned with another cup, filled it with tea and failed to pay for it. The woman was confronted outside by the restaurant manager, who contacted the Sheriff's Office. The deputy found the woman in her car and she claimed she had been at the restaurant earlier and had purchased a drink. The deputy discovered the woman had "pulled this stunt here at least twice" before. She was given a trespass warning.

BOOM BOXES

8300 block of Haven Harbour Way, Bradenton

Criminal mischief: The Sheriff's Office was alerted because two mail boxes on the same street exploded and were destroyed in the blast. No one was seen placing the explosive into the mailboxs, but the blast was caught on security video. It was the second incident in two days as another mailbox had explosed on the same street but went unreported. Replacement value for the three mailboxes was $200.

Fore! He's not a jolly good fellow

8200 block of 60th Street Circle East, Sarasota

Possession of cannabis; carjacking, tresspass: The Sheriff's Office received a call about a man and woman who were living in their car at an apartment complex. When the deputy arrived, he observed what appeared to be a cannabis joint in plain view in the door pocket of their car. While the deputy detained the female, the male fled on foot. Deputies pursued the suspect through several yards and on to a golf course. On the course, the suspect attempted to carjack a golf cart. A golfer saw the deputies in pursuit and attempted to tackle the suspect. The man broken free and ran behind the a house, then entered a screened lanai. As deputies approached, he exited the lanai and ran, but was apprehended by deputies.
