Aug. 28
Backup plan
6:13 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Public Service. A woman backed into a car parked behind her in the Publix parking lot. The other vehicle was slightly damaged.

Flashing report
10:31 p.m. — 600 block of Ranger Lane
. Public Service. A flashing security light at a home was bothering the residents who live behind the house. Dispatch was unable to contact the home’s owner.

Aug. 29
Just toss it
7:50 a.m. — 6700 block of GMD.
Suspicious Circumstance. A condo maintenance man found flyers from a real-estate company seeking owners who wished to sell their units. Police contacted one of the company’s agents, who said her assistant probably placed the flyers on the units. The agent asked that they be thrown away.

Sept. 1
Need a ride?
7:50 a.m. — 3800 block of GMD
. Public Service. A woman reported that her truck was taken from its parking spot. Police found the vehicle in the area and told the owner, who believes her guests might have used it the night before.

Line in the sand
2:56 p.m. — 5800 block of GMD.
Civil Disturbance. A man complained that people from the resort next door were trespassing on his property. Two unit owners said they were below the high-water line and weren’t in violation. Police decided to seek clarification from the town attorney.

Turn of events
10:31 a.m. — 3300 block of GMD
. Reckless Driver. A female turned into a resort parking lot without using her turn signal, which caused a bicyclist to brake abruptly. The bicyclist brought photos of the vehicle to police, but police didn’t think the driver’s act was intentional.

After-dark barks
10:11 p.m. — 700 block of Russell Street
. Animal. A woman called police because she wanted to make sure that a dog that had been barking for two hours in its owner’s yard was OK. The dog appeared to be in good condition and licked the officer’s hand. The owner came outside and took the dog indoors.

Sept. 2
Home run
12:14 a.m. — 500 block of Harbor Cove Circle
. Public Service. A woman, who appeared intoxicated, walked to her community’s guardhouse to ask for help after a cab had dropped her off at home, then she turned around and started walking home. She told police everything was fine. Police accompanied her back to her residence.
