June 6
YOU’LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT
11:30 p.m. — 1200 block of North Tuttle Avenue.
Miscellaneous Officer. An employee at a medical center reported a patient had been admitted after sustaining an injury from an airsoft rifle. The patient reported he was playing with the rifle in a field with his goggles off when his friend accidentally hit him in the eye. He said the incident was not malicious.

June 7
SUSPICIOUS SHUFFLING
3 p.m. — 2800 block of Bay Shore Road.
Burglary — Structure. A woman got into her car and noticed the valet key was sitting on the passenger seat; it had previously been in the glove box. She also noticed that some spare change had been removed from the cup holder. The woman then noticed some speakers she had stacked in her carport were sitting at the end of her driveway. The woman advised she had left the driver’s door unlocked.

June 8
BIKE BANDIT
7:35 a.m. — 800 block of North Jefferson Avenue
. Battery — Non-Serious Injury. A woman said as she was walking down the street a man on a bike approached her from the front and rode past her. A moment later, the man rode up behind her and grabbed her hair, pulling on it. The man fled on the bicycle. The woman said she had never seen the man before and that she thinks he was attempting to steal her necklace.

SHADY ACTIVITY
3:30 p.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail.
Theft — $300 to $20,000. An employee at a sunglasses store reported an unknown subject took four pairs of sunglasses, totaling $1,339.95. The employee said there were approximately eight customers in the store that afternoon. When a majority of those customers left, she and another employee noticed four pairs of sunglasses were missing from the shelves and drawers. An officer asked the employee if she had access to the security footage, but the employee said the cameras were just in place as a deterrent.

CRACKING THE CASE
5:30 p.m. — 3500 block of North Tamiami Trail
. Petit Theft — Shoplifting. A security employee at a department store reported a theft. The employee said a man placed eight cases of beer in a shopping cart and left without paying. The man was walking toward a car in which another male was waiting, at which point the employee confronted the man and asked for the beer back. The man placed his hand in his pocket and said, “What, you want some?” The employee returned to the store to avoid confrontation.

June 9
VICIOUS CYCLE?
1:29 a.m. — 3000 block of Alta Vista Street.
Suspicion General/Unknown. A man reported a person on a motorcycle rode up and down the street four times, stopping in front of the man’s residence for a few seconds. The man could not give a description of the subject, and officers were unable to locate anyone in the area on a motorcycle.
