Sept. 25
Dude looks like a lady
11 p.m. — 1900 block of Hillview Street
. Battery. A woman at a bar with her friends said another woman walked up to her and punched her in the eye. Bouncers tried to pull woman No. 2 away, but she bit the victim a couple of times first. The next day, the attacker wrote on the victim’s Facebook page that she was the woman who hit and bit her. Police are tracking her down. The victim provided an unflattering description of the suspect: 6 feet tall with “manly features.”

Sept. 26
Out of the closet
10 a.m. — 300 block of Avenida Madera
. Grand Theft. A woman reported that $1,700 worth of clothing was stolen from her closet. She found some of the stolen clothes wrapped in towels in the bathroom cabinet of her roommate’s bathroom. She suspects he stole the clothing. The roommate is also her co-worker.

Sept. 27
All talk
10 a.m. — 2000 block of Ringling Boulevard
. Suspicious Incident. The complainant won a civil judgment against another man and was walking out of the courtroom when the other man walked up to him and said, “You’re dead. I’m gonna meet you downstairs, and I’m going to kill you.” The suspect did not follow through with the threat, but the complainant thought that he was being followed for a while after driving away from the courthouse.

The price is wrong
1:57 p.m. — 3500 block of East Forest Lake Drive
. Civil Disturbance. A homeowner hired a contractor to do some landscaping and paving work around her house. After the work was completed, the homeowner did some research into how much that kind of job should cost, and she concluded she was overcharged. She called the sheriff’s office, but a deputy told her that her problem was not a criminal one. The homeowner was told of the steps she could take if she wanted to file a civil lawsuit against the contractor.

Sept. 28
Blockhead
12:08 a.m. — 2100 block of Hawthorne Street
. Criminal Mischief. Someone threw a large piece of concrete through the victim’s front window. The homeowner had been asleep at the time, so there was no one in the front room where the concrete landed. An officer searched the area, but couldn’t come up with a place where the 20-pound piece of concrete originated. The homeowner said she wasn’t having problems with anyone and doesn’t know who may have vandalized her house.

Quick fingers
1:05 p.m. — 3600 block of South Tuttle Avenue
. Grand Theft. The victim was shopping at a dollar store and placed her wallet in the seat of her shopping cart. Someone stole it when she wasn’t looking. A witness described a man hustling out of the store, who may have been the thief. While a deputy was investigating inside the store, an employee walked up to him carrying the victim’s wallet. It had been hidden on a store shelf. The only thing missing was $250 cash.

Asleep at the wheel
1:53 p.m. — Fruitville Road
. Reckless Driving. Someone called police to report the driver of a blue Porsche kept falling asleep at the wheel. The driver apparently was on morphine.

The Tin Man
3:50 p.m. — 600 block of South Shade Avenue
. Suspicious Person. A homeowner reported that a man knocked on his door and asked for some tin foil. The man left without receiving any.
