The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

COUNTRY OAKS
July 10
 11:30 a.m. 
— 4800 block of 79th Plaza East. Burglary to a dwelling. Unknown persons entered the victim’s open garage and removed a dirt bike. The person(s) then fled from the residence and pushed the motorcycle down the street so as not to alert anyone with the sound of the engine.

CREEKWOOD
July 9
 9:25 p.m.
— 7100 block of 46th Avenue Circle. Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) opened the unlocked vehicle of the vehicle and took an iPod Classic.

HERITAGE HARBOUR
July 10
 9:30 a.m. 
— 9100 block of Hammock Place. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The subject(s) entered the structure through a rear sliding door and went into the laundry room to remove property. The subject appeared to use a dolly.

LIONSHEAD
July 10
 9:30 a.m. 
— 3900 block of 57th Drive East. Criminal mischief. The victim reported someone drove by her house and hit her mailbox with an unknown object. She could hear the noise outside her house, but saw no one. She noticed damage to the mailbox the next morning. She stated this has happened several times throughout the community in recent weeks.

MANATEE PALMS
July 10
 6 a.m.
— 6600 block of 2nd Avenue East. Theft. The complainant stated someone stole the hubcaps from her vehicle. She did not know who stole them.

RIVER POINT OF MANATEE
July 9
 4:45 p.m.
— 4100 block of Second Avenue East. Attempted burglary. The suspect(s) attempted to enter the home by removing a screen window from the rear of the residence. The victim saw the suspect and confronted him, which caused him to flee the area.

TARA
July 10
 10:08 a.m.
— 7000 block of Drewry’s Bluff. Burglary of a conveyance. While the victim and his two employees were mowing and weed-eating several accounts they have on the street, unknown person(s) entered their unlocked lawn trailer from the side door and stole property.

OTHER
July 9
 7:30 p.m.
— 5500 block of State Road 64 East (BP). Uttering a forged bill. The complainant stated the suspect entered the store and requested change for a $100 bill. The clerk was busy with a customer and asked the suspect to wait. Once the suspect approached the counter, he had several items to purchase and rendered the $100 bill. The clerk immediately believed it was counterfeit. The clerk used the counterfeit detection pen and observed a black line on the bill, which indicated it was counterfeit. The clerk confronted the suspect, who stated he had just cashed his check at Amscot. The suspect then left abruptly. Several minutes after contacting the sheriff’s office and before a deputy arrived on scene, the suspect returned and asked for the bill back.

July 10
 11:33 a.m
. — 6100 block of 63rd Street East (Jiggs Landing construction site). Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. Unknown person(s) either entered the fenced and locked construction site or gained access via boat and water to the ranger’s home still under construction at the Manatee County-owned Jiggs Landing park. Once at the house, unknown person(s) used ladders located at the site to gain access to the entry doors of the stilt home built 17 feet up. Several tools were stolen.

8 p.m. — 2800 block of University Parkway. Burglary to vehicle. The victim reported he had been having coffee before he returned to his vehicle and found his handicap placard was missing. It had been hanging on the rear view mirror. The victim said his door was unlocked and nothing else was taken.
