The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
 July 15

1:40 p.m. — 12000 Beeflower Drive. Petit theft. The victim reported the theft of a code box off the home. The address is vacant and for sale. The complainant stated the code box was located on the right side of the front door and that it appeared to have been removed and stolen. The key was in the code box, the complainant said. There did not appear to be any activity in the house.

MANATEE PALMS
 July 15

4:30 p.m. — 100 block of 64th Street Northeast. Grand theft. The victim stated “Johnny” had borrowed his lawnmower, a 2009 model club cadet valued at more than $4,100. The victim lent Johnny the mower so he could mow some yards. He was supposed to return the mower after 48 hours and has not. The victim has made repeated requests to get the mower back and would like to prosecute.

RIVER PLACE
 July 14 

9:05 p.m. — 6900 block of 74th Street Circle East. Grand theft auto and burglary. Sometime in August 2008, unknown persons entered the residence through an open garage and took two dirt bikes.

RIVER POINT OF MANATEE
 July 6

2 p.m. — 4200 block of Third Avenue East. Delivery of a controlled substance. The subject provided a controlled substance to his 16-year-old son for pain. The narcotic is described as 30mg of morphine. Post-Miranda, the subject admitted to violation of the crime and was arrested and transported to jail.

SABAL HARBOUR
 July 17

2 a.m. — 4500 block of Abacos Place. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. Unknown males were seen on bicycles; one of the suspects was riding the victim’s bicycle out of the driveway of the residence. The garage door had been left open, and the bicycle was inside the garage. The victim called 911. The suspects fled. The victim’s bicycle was located and returned.

STONE CREEK
 July 13

3:30 p.m. — 3400 block of 29th Street East. Theft. The victim reported that her Nintendo DS was stolen. The roommate moved out July 1 and on July 3, she was told by a friend that he had sold it to her for $20.

THE TRAILS
 July 14

4 p.m. — 3600 block of 71st Terrace East. Grand theft and burglary. The victim notified his landlord that he was going to be out of town for several weeks. Upon his return, the locks had been changed, and new tenants were living in his residence and using his personal belongings and furniture. The victim was not legally evicted from the residence. When the victim attempted to gather his belongings from the residence, the victim found many items were missing.

UNIVERSITY PLACE
 July 15

7:20 p.m. — 8000 block of Spring Marsh Drive. Identity theft. The victim noticed his online banking had two withdrawals that neither he nor his wife authorized. The couple still has their debit cards, so they have no idea how this could have been done.

OTHER
 July 15

12:09 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Wal-Mart). Retail theft. The suspect concealed items in her purse and left the store without paying. She was apprehended.

July 16
10:34 a.m. — 6200 block of Lake Osprey Drive (Mobil Gas Station). Suspicious circumstances. An unidentified white male and a Hispanic male arrived at the gas station. The male exited his truck and used four various credit cards at the gas dispensing unit. He obtained less than $200 worth of gas. The male entered his truck, and both subjects absconded in an unknown direction.
2:45 p.m. — 7200 block of 55th Avenue East. Uttering forged check. The victim received a letter in the mail from her bank regarding possible fraud. Upon further investigation, the victim was unaware of the transaction in question and canceled her account.
