The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

GATES CREEK
 April 15

12:30 a.m. — 11100 block of 3rd Avenue East. Attempted burglary to an occupied residence. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter the residence by prying on the front door jamb while the victim was inside. The suspect(s) fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.
 
LAKEWOOD RANCH
April 14
 11:15 a.m.
— 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia after a school administration search found a grinder and a glass pipe used with marijuana.

11:30 p.m. — 12200 block of Hollybush Terrace. Burglary to a conveyance. Unknown person(s) entered the vehicle through the unlocked doors and removed two laptop computers valued at $2,766.88. The victim did not notice the laptops were missing until she came out to put her car in the garage.
 
MILL CREEK
April 15
 Noon
— 13700 block of Upper Manatee River Road. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The victim and his wife returned home and found their front door had been forced open. Upon entering, they discovered several items missing. The victim was going to make a list of the missing items with descriptions. Photographs of the scene were taken, and a canvass of the neighbors was conducted with negative results.
 
SARASOTA
April 16
 5 p.m.
— 4700 block of Oak Run Drive. Grand theft. The victim stated a friend of her and her husband’s spent the night at their house. The next day, the victim went into the upstairs bedroom where the suspect had been staying to retrieve her jewelry. The victim opened the built-in bench seat where she kept her jewelry. The tin where she kept her jewelry was in its proper place, but the jewelry that was in it was missing. The victim stated she believes the suspect stole the jewelry because he has a drug problem. The total value of the stole jewelry is about $6,448.
 
OTHER
April 14
 8:15 p.m.
— 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Retail theft. While the defendant was in the cosmetics department, he selected two packages of cologne. He then began to cut the merchandise from its blister packaging in the department. He then went to the housewares department where he finished cutting the merchandise from its packaging. He then placed the merchandise inside his shirt and concealed the merchandise under both of his armpits. He proceeded to the front exit where he exited the store by passing all points of sale without any attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. Once outside, the defendant was stopped by store security and brought back into the store without further incident. The merchandise valued at $58 was recovered and returned to the store.

April 16
 5 p.m.
— 5129 53rd Ave. E. (Braden River Auto). Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) took the catalytic converter off of the vehicle. The person(s) then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
 
April 18
 11:23 p.m.
— 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Grand theft. An unknown black male entered the store and selected two different computers off of the shelves and placed them into a shopping cart. The unknown male then walked to the front of the store and exited passed all points of sale without paying for the items. The unknown male got into a four-door white vehicle and fled the scene. The computers are valued at $1,296.
