Community Haven now has a special appreciation for Tootsie Rolls.

The Knights of Columbus Incarnation Council No. 15332 donated $501 to the East County group. The group raised dollars through a recent fundraiser, the Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities," which is also coined the "Tootsie Roll Drive."

The local group collected donations outside of local stores, and in appreciation of monetary donations, donors are given candy, often Tootsie Rolls. But, the program has no other affiliation with the Tootsie Roll company.

The program has been offered for more than 30 years, and aims to improve the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities or groups that help those individuals, such as Community Haven.

Community Haven provides therapy, socialization, housing, fitness and other programs for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities.
