Commission to select police panel chairmen

City commissioners are expected this evening to choose the chairmen for the Independent Police Advisory Panel and the Police Complaint Committee.

Both boards were created to help guide police-department policies and ensure public confidence in the department.

The eight people who applied as the head of the Police Advisory Panel are: Debra Anderson, Elmber Berkel, Andy Dorr, Gerald Elden, David Ferdinand, William Fuller III, Kelvin Lumpkin and Jerry Meketon.

The six applicants for the Police Complaints Committee chairmanship are: Debra Anderson, David Ferdinand, William Fuller III, Billy Phillips, Ronald Riffel and Michael Shelton.
