The Longboat Key Town Commission will consider the $452,500 purchase of the property at 4110 Gulf of Mexico Drive at its regular meeting tonight at 7 p.m. The property is adjacent to Bayfront Park Recreation Center and was owned by longtime Colony Beach & Tennis Resort owner Dr. Murray “Murf” Klauber’s Two Huts Inc. until September, when First Federal Bank of Florida received the certificate of title following a foreclosure judgment.

Approval of the contract will require at least five affirmative votes.

Also at tonight’s meeting, the commission is scheduled to:

Consider approving:
• The proposed 2012 Town Commission meeting calendar.
• An item that would formalize the town’s continued support of the 2011 Longboat Key Gourmet Lawn Party, formerly known as the St. Jude Gourmet Luncheon.

Consider on first reading:
• An ordinance that would provide for codification of ordinances upon adoption, which would provide timelier updates to the online version of town code.

Consider resolutions:
• Providing for the temporary closure of the North Shore Road beach access and adjoining park areas during a seawall repair project.
• To establish a Dog Beach Feasibility Committee
• To adopt the vision statement, mission statement and core values for the town forwarded by the Vision Planning Subcommittee.
• Establishing a policy for commissioner use of iPads.

Appoint:
• Members to the Dog Beach Feasibility Committee.
• Members to the Firefighters’ Retirement System, General Employees’ Retirement System and Police Officers’ Retirement System boards of trustees.
