The Longboat Key Town Commission will discuss on first reading a budget transfer that would pay for each full-time town employee to receive a one-time $1,000 bonus, with part-time employees receiving a pro-rated amount, at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at Longboat Key Town Hall.

According to a Nov. 22 memo sent by Finance Director Tom Kelley to Town Manager David Bullock, the cost to the town totals $171,993. The proposed ordinance would include a general fund transfer of $154,917, a utility fund transfer of $9,314 and a building fund transfer of $7,762.

Also at tonight’s meeting, the commission will:

Present:
• A certificate of completion to Commissioner Pat Zunz from the Institute of Elected Municipal Officials (IEMO) and Advanced IEMO.

Discuss on first reading and public hearing:
• An ordinance passing through the increase on wholesale water and wastewater rates approved by the Manatee Board of County Commissioners to the town’s utility ratepayers.

Discuss on second reading and public hearing:
• An ordinance to provide for codification of amendments upon adoption rather than through supplements, which would allow for timelier updates of the online version of the town’s code;

• An ordinance allowing for a budget amendment to transfer money from the town’s Land Acquisition Fund for the $452,500 purchase of the property at 4110 Gulf of Mexico Drive;

• An ordinance providing for the transfer of $15,000 to fund the contract with a consultant to develop a prospectus for a proposed community center at the Bayfront Park Recreation Center property.
Discuss resolutions:

• Reversing a budget transfer relating to the town match of $10,365.97 for former Town Manager Bruce St. Denis’ 401k account contribution, which was paid in error;

• Allowing the Finance Department to write off uncollectible utility debt.
Consider:

• An appointment to the Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizens Advisory Committee;

• Town representation on the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council and provide direction to the town manager.
