The Longboat Key Town Commission accepted the resignation of Town Manager Bruce St. Denis today at a special meeting.

In a statement St. Denis read to commissioners, he listed the things he helped to accomplish in his 15 years of service to the town.

“I’m proud of my work, and I’m willing to put it under any level of scrutiny,” he said.

Mayor Jim Brown thanked St. Denis for his service.

“Your contributions will not be forgotten,” he said.

Police Chief Al Hogle was appointed acting town manager, a role that will likely last no more than a few weeks. The commission plans to appoint an interim town manager to serve for six to eight months while it searches for a permanent town manager.
