Colony Beach and Tennis Club burglary reported in Longboat Key

A possible burglary was reported at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 16 by the property manager at Colony Beach and Tennis Club, 6020 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, according to the Town of Longboat Key Police Department.

Lawrence Stritzel reported he discovered a cable lock to the front gate had been cut although it was unknown whether any items had been taken from the property due to the ongoing demolition of several buildings.

Stritzel reported the driver of an unidentified car with a trailer was asked to leave the property at 3 p.m. Aug. 15. Extra property patrols were requested.

The investigation is ongoing.
