Code Enforcement hears eight turtle-lighting cases

The Longboat Key Code Enforcement Board heard eight turtle-lighting violation cases at its Monday, June 11 regular meeting.

Sand Cay Beach Resort and Gulf Tides of Longboat Key were each fined $25 per day for improper lighting. The board levied fines totaling $125 for five days of violation for Sand Cay and $100 for four days of violations for Gulf Tides.

The board accepted stipulation agreements and established grounds for repeat violations for Sea Pines, H. Lee and Linda Scott, Bayport Beach and Tennis Club condominium, Mark and Carol Tormey, Roseann Morrison and Outrigger Resort.

The board agreed to continue a repeat violation involving Gregory McKee, who requested the continuation, to the next meeting date.
