Students in Tracie Nissley's fourth- and fifth-grade class at Braden River Elementary School spent most of this week taking the FCAT. The East County Observer caught up with a few students after the test to see what makes the FCAT so challenging. 

Sarah Dill, 10, fourth-grader

What's the toughest part about the FCAT? 

"The toughest part of the FCAT is probably waiting after you finish. It's like a 70-minute test, but sometimes you finish in 40 minutes. So you have to just (sit there) and wait." 

Ben Klein, 9, fourth-grader

What's the toughest part about the FCAT? 

"The toughest part is probably waiting after you finish it because I normally finish it early. You just have to check it over and over again and it gets boring." 

Tyler Puhalovich, 11, fifth-grader

What's the toughest part about the FCAT? 

"One thing would be the word questions that you have to answer because they take 15 minutes and if you miss one then you can miss the whole thing. The other thing would be waiting to get your scores over the summer because it's frustrating not knowing whether you did good or bad."

What's the toughest part about the FCAT? 

"Waiting to get your scores because it always leaves you hanging and you never know what you got." 

Jamie Tarriela, 9, fourth-grader 

What's the toughest part about the FCAT? 

"Writing because it takes a long time for me to think of what I'm going to write."
