Weather permitting, the city of Sarasota will install five electric vehicle charging stations in public parking areas for public use Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Crews will install the first station in the southwest corner of the City Hall parking lot, located at 1565 first street.

The five charging stations will be located in three parking lots:
• 1 unit: City Hall
• 2 units: St. Armands South Parking Lot
• 2 units: Bayfront Park Parking lot (near Flying Fish Fleet)

Stations are a complimentary service. The two located at Bayfront Park will have a three-hour time limit. The charging stations are being installed by Florida Power & Light, at no cost to the city, as part of the Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Sustainability Agreement, which was established with the 30 year franchise agreement between the two entities.
