“Sarasota Tomorrow” campaign co-chairs John Cranor, Teri Hansen, and Rick Piccolo shared plans last week for their push for a brighter economy with Sarasota Tomorrow–NEXT. The first “Sarasota Tomorrow” campaign was in effect from 2008 to 2012.

“The successes of Sarasota Tomorrow were impressive, but we still have work to do,” Sarasota Chamber president Steve Queior said. “Over the next three years, we will undertake four major initiatives”

Over the next three years, the campaign’s goals are to improve the business climate for employers and developing new business opportunities in the city’s core business districts.

“We can finally achieve the goal of a destination conference center, which is projected to attract $44.6 million in new annual spending by outside groups, and we can focus on augmenting the resident population to our downtown,” Queior said.

The new campaign was introduced at a meeting Jan. 31 as more than 100 business and community leaders gathered at the Orioles Clubhouse at Ed Smith Stadium.
