This year’s Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards presentation will be reminiscent of Oscar night.

“Our plan is to do a different, exciting awards presentation … like the Academy Awards, with last year’s winners presenting the awards,” said Chamber President Tom Aposporos.

The event takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Players Theatre, 838 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Tickets are $5, and the event will feature hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

This year’s awards include a new category for non-profits.

Unlike previous years, this year the Chamber will not hold seminars throughout Small Business Week. Instead, according to Aposporos, seminars will be spread throughout the year to accommodate members’ schedules.
