After a hiatus last year, Longboat Key’s Freedom Festival is back. The annual old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Bicentennial Park, Bay Isles Road.

Festivities include a patriotic parade, face painting, kids’ games, prizes for kids, music and, of course, an appearance by good ol’ Uncle Sam.

Don’t miss breakfast treats such as waffles, muffins, watermelon, beverages and snacks.

The festival is presented by the Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by The Longboat Observer. Call 383-2466 for more information.
