Red Tiger Martial Arts continued its weekly taekwondo and martial arts summer camp last week. The camp allows children to learn martial arts, play games, go on field trips and make crafts while building confidence, self-esteem and character.

On July 31, the campers visited Jumpin Fun Trampoline Park before heading back to the Ashton Road facility, which is the largest traditional taekwondo facility in Florida, to practice taekwondo.

CAMPER SPOTLIGHT
Olivia Lamsley, 9

Is this your first time doing martial arts?

I did it before at Red Tiger for all last year and this summer.

What is your favorite part of martial arts?
It’s fun — you get to kind of fight but not hurt people.

Any favorite move?
Yes — a roundhouse kick!

What move do you hope to learn?
I want to learn how to do a backflip kick.

Do you have any advice for someone thinking of doing martial arts?
If anyone were thinking of trying it out, this would be the right place. It’s cool how martial arts teaches you that when you get mad you don’t have to fight people, you can walk away.
