+ Two new businesses open on Ranch Main
Let’s Create Art and Pinchers Crab Shack both recently opened their doors on Lakewood Ranch Main Street.

Instructors at Let’s Create Art began teaching classes June 11, offering professional instruction that is customized for all skill levels from beginner to advanced in both adult and young artist programs.

“Anyone can paint,” Brazilian-born artist Clark Prosperi said. “People think it’s difficult, but once you take the intimidation factor out of painting — make it fun and relaxing — then my students are always surprised at what they can achieve in a short time period. By establishing a fun, relaxing school that offers professional, high-level art instruction, our goal is to teach many, many people to do just that — learn to paint beautiful art and enjoy the pleasure and rewards that come from painting.”

For June class registration information, contact Jennifer Pies at 361-1491 or email [email protected].

Pinchers Crab Shack moved May 22 from its Clark Road, Sarasota location to Lakewood Ranch.

The family-owned 6,500-square-foot restaurant features an indoor/outdoor bar with a large open patio area. The company has been operating in Southwest Florida for 15 years and is known for serving fresh seafood in a casual and tropical atmosphere.

+ Lakewood Ranch adds new neighborhood
Lakewood Ranch recently announced the addition of its newest neighborhood, Haddington, located in Country Club East.

The gated community will feature private roads, including its own transponder-controlled, residents-only gate, paved sidewalks, lush community landscaping and upgraded requirements for all residences.

The neighborhood is comprised of 76 home sites, including 39 62-foot and 47 76-foot sites; 31 sites have extensive views of Lake Royal. Neighborhood amenities include three gazebos for gathering and relaxing and a kayak launch.

Homes will range from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet with home-site packages beginning in the high $400,000s.

“We are excited about our newest addition in Country Club East,” said Jimmy Stewart, vice president of sales for LWR Communities. “With our existing inventory of home sites in Country Club East being more than 90% sold, the introduction of Haddington is perfect timing for our Country Club product, given the recent market turnaround.”
