+ Longboat Publix to host centuries-old ceremony
Longboat Key Publix, 525 Bay Isles Parkway, will hold an event in which deli associates will crack 75-pound wheels of Publix deli Italian Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
“This is a great opportunity for customers to observe the centuries-old art of cheese-wheel cracking, a slow and gradual process, and experience the aroma and taste of this delicious cheese,” said Shannon Patten, Publix media and community relations manager, in a prepared statement.
The event will take place at noon Saturday, Feb. 19.
