+ Gillian’s now on the map of St. Armands Circle
Gillian’s Deli & Specialty Ice Cream has opened at 7 S. Blvd. of the Presidents on St. Armands Circle. The eatery features sandwiches, 40 flavors of Working Cow ice cream, coffee, smoothies and Richard’s Fudge. According to Pam MaGee, who co-owns the business with Gary Thornton, the shop features a map on which customers can pin their home location. In the seven weeks since its opening, the map has accumulated more than 700 pins from at least 30 countries. Hours are currently from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Call 388-1671.

+ Tennis Gardens among finalists for EDC Hall of Fame
The Longboat Key Club and Resort’s Tennis Gardens facility is among nine finalists for the Economic Development Corp. (EDC) of Sarasota County Hall of Fame. Award winners will be announced at a luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. Call 309-1200, Ext. 103.

+ Longboat Key Club to hold job fair for various positions
The Longboat Key Club and Resort will be hosting a job fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Islandside Dining Room, 361 Longboat Club Road. The resort currently has open positions in the Food and Beverage, Operations and Spa & Fitness departments. Other open positions include kitchen supervisors, banquet captains, maintenance technicians, massage therapists, dance trance instructors, Zumba instructors and belly dancing instructors.
