+ Chamber makes a move with help from its members
In January, the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce moved to its new location at the Centre Shops with help from its members.

According to Gail Loefgren, executive director of the chamber, the following members, businesses and organizations helped during the move: Jay Anderson, of Edgewater Contractors; Don Roberts, of the Centre Shops; Jay Vandroff, of Yarnall Warehouse/United Van Lines; Jack Dean, of G. Fried Carpet; Tony Driscoll and Jake Lockwood, of TDA Global Sports; Wagner Realty; Rick Bergere, of Madison Avenue Advertising; John Cozy, of Floor Care Solutions; Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau; Visit Sarasota County; Aqua Plumbing and Air; and Pam Santarlas Cleaning and Maintenance.

The chamber is now located in Unit 102 of the Centre Shops of Longboat Key, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Before the move, the chamber had operated out of Mediterranean Plaza since March. For information, call 383-2466.

+ Cannons Marina to attend Miami Boat Show
Cannons Marina yacht sales broker Marcel Kasten and manager Benny Parrish will attend the 2014 Miami Boat Show that will take place from Feb. 13 through Feb. 17, at the Miami Beach Convention Center and Sea Isle Marina.

The marina’s staff will showcase the newest boats from Jupiter Marine and Grady-White Boats. For information, call 383-1311.

+ Barbara Miller celebrates anniversary with Coldwell
Barbara Miller recently celebrated her 25-year anniversary with Coldwell Banker Residential Realty.
She began her real estate career in 1988 at the company’s Bee Ridge Road office and has spent the last 20 years at its St. Armands Circle office.

Before moving to Sarasota, Miller was an actress, model and dancer. Her career included several performances with Sammy Davis Jr. and appearances in ad campaigns for A&W Root Beer, Anacin, Unisom and other brands that ran in various women’s magazines. She also acted in several soap operas and TV commercials and had a small role in the 1986 film “Jumping Jack Flash.”

Today, Miller has two children and two grandchildren. She recently received the “5 Star — Best in Client Satisfaction” award for the sixth consecutive year.
