Burglars target University Pines

Windows of six vehicles in the University Pines community in the East County were smashed during burglaries last night.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report states vehicles parked at homes in the 8300 and 8400 blocks of Country Park Way and 5100 and 5200 blocks of Ithaca Lane were burglarized sometime between 5-7 a.m., this morning. Windows on all the vehicles were smashed to gain entry.

Items stolen included a blue laptop bag, an MP3 player, a GPS, a radio and a wallet. Two of the vehicles were broken into but had no items taken.
