Building official Wayne Thorne resigns

Town Building Official Wayne Thorne has resigned, effective Aug. 21.

Building inspector Tony Sapuppo will serve as acting building official while the town searches for Thorne’s replacement.

Thorne previously worked for Manatee County and joined the town’s Planning, Zoning & Building Department in 2012 as acting building official through an agreement between the town and county before taking on the role permanently later that year.

The town has posted a job listing for a code administrator/building official at a salary between $64,417 and $87,256.
