Budget season kicks off today at Town Hall

Today marks the official start of budget season at Town Hall.

The Longboat Key Town Commission meets at 11 a.m. at Town Hall for its first budget workshop of the summer season. Commissioners are expected to discuss how to address a more than $600,000 budget deficit at the meeting.

The town’s Investment Advisory Committee will also meet at 1 p.m. in the Commission Chambers meeting room to discuss budget issues and ways to address more than $27 million in unfunded pension liabilities.
