+ Corrections
• In the March 18 edition, The Longboat Observer incorrectly characterized comments of Bob White, president of the Islandside Property Owners Coalition. White did not level accusations against Planning and Zoning Board member Walter Hackett. Asked for his response to rumors of alleged actions by Hackett, White said three sources informed him of the alleged activity. Hackett denies the allegations.

• In a photo depicting the Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian groundbreaking ceremony in the March 18 edition, the Rev. Graham Hart, executive presbyter at Peace River Presbytery, was incorrectly identified as Burt Borgelt.

+ Town manager wants pension study
Town Manager Bruce St. Denis will ask the Town Commission to fund a comprehensive study of the town’s three pension plans to analyze the costs associated with making any future changes to the town’s three pension plans.
PFM Asset Management LLC, the town’s financial adviser, would perform the study. The cost and proposed scope of the study, which could be complete in June, is still being analyzed.

+ P&Z will review Longboat codes
The Longboat Key Planning and Zoning Board will review a list of seven town code clarifications suggested by The Longboat Key Club and Resort at a special meeting 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road.

If another meeting is needed, the planning board has also agreed to meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Town Hall.

The seven proposed clarifications, club attorney John Patterson says, will eliminate code ambiguities and move the $400 million Islandside renovation-and-expansion project forward to a Town Commission vote without many legal challenges presented to the commission by attorneys for the Islandside Property Owners Coalition, which opposes the project as proposed.
