Braden River High School is getting statewide accolades from the learning community.

After extensive review, the East County school's learning academies — Arts and Communications Technology, Business and International Studies, Engineering Design and Leadership, and Science Technology and Health — have been designated as "model status" by the National Career Academy Coalition.

Braden River is the first school in the county to attain wall-to-wall model designation and is only the second school in the state to achieve the status.

Braden River High School's academies will be featured on the NCAC website and now will be eligible for a monetary award at the annual NCAC conference this November, in Nashville, Tenn.
