Bomb threat cleared at courthouse

A bomb threat at the Sarasota Courthouse downtown was cleared late Friday morning.

“The courthouse has been checked, and there was no bomb,” said  Linda DeNiro, public information officer with the Sarasota Police Department.

Both Ringling Boulevard and Adams Lane, east of U.S. 301, were closed due to the bomb threat, and expected to re-open at 10:30 a.m., DeNiro said.

City and county police officials are investigating.
