Lennar Homes likely will move forward with changes to its River Strand project, within Heritage Harbour, as it eliminates plans to construct a commercial marina on the property.

The Manatee County Planning Commission endorsed the proposed changed during its regular meeting today. The item now will go to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners for approval.

Instead of the marina, Lennar would construct single-family homesites with boat docks for those residences, as well as a private boat ramp.

Additionally, Lennar plans to shift the construction of about 100 homes from the northern portion of the project to south of Port Harbour Parkway.

The number of previously-approved homes does not change.
