Blackboard Inc. honors Sarasota schools

The Sarasota County School District received the Catalyst Award for Innovation from Blackboard Inc., an education technology company.

The award honors those in the education field who strive for excellence in teaching.

Blackboard Inc. designed Blackboard Learning, a learning management system developed to assist education officials, teachers and students. The technology company honors a district every year with the Catalyst Award.

Blackboard CEO Jay Bhatt says it’s an honor to recognize “forward-thinking educators who are helping create a world inspired to learn.”
