The Pirates’ shooting guard, who averaged 13 points and 2.5 steals throughout the tournament, helped power Braden River to victories over Booker and South Fort Myers.

Why do you think you have seen so much success this season?
We’ve been working hard in practice and doing everything our coach tells us to do. We all bond easily, and we’ve been able to come together as one.

What do you enjoy the most about basketball?
Overtime. It’s so intense. It really shows (your toughness) when you’re tired and you have to let it all out.

What is the toughest part about being a shooting guard?
You have got to make that game-winning shot. Everyone looks up to you.

How long have you been playing basketball?
I’ve been playing since I was 4 years old. It was just something to try.

If you could play another sport for a day, what would it be?
Lacrosse. I just want to try it.

Who is your biggest role model?
Ryan Glasser, my travel ball coach for the Bay City Ballers. He’s so successful in everything that he does.

What is your favorite subject?
Science. I like dealing with the chemicals and learning something new.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Puerto Rico for the water.

Do you have any siblings?
I have an older brother, Jethro, and two older sisters, Tara and Victoria.

What is your favorite food?
Chicken Alfredo.

Do you have a favorite sports team?
The Miami Heat. They’ve got LeBron (James), Dwyane Wade and (Chris) Bosh.
