At the April 4 opening reception for the “East Meets West” exhibit at ArtCenter Manatee, Joan Brummer, president of Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch, presented a check to Carla Nierman, ACM executive director. In keeping with its mission statement to participate in community exhibitions and to support aspiring artists, CAA makes an annual donation to a scholarship fund at ACM that enables emerging artists lacking funds to participate in programs at the center.

Thirteen artists from CAA exhibited their work in the Searle Gallery, which represented the “East” segment of the month-long exhibit.

First-place ribbon went to Brummer for her acrylic, “On the Road to Lisbon”; second place went to Sharon Tell Wood for her monoprint, “Rainbow In My Garden”; and third place went to Mary Louise Ringers for her watercolor, “Sunshine.”
