When the votes were tallied and results were announced Monday night for ABC News Nightline’s annual “People’s Platelist Contest,” chef Henry Chandler, of Henry’s Louisiana Grill, in Acworth, Ga., was named the winner. But Euphemia Haye chef/proprietor Raymond Arpke, who was a finalist, said that being nominated was a victory in itself. Arpke was one of 20 finalists chosen from more than 1,000 entries in the contest, which recognizes chefs for the creativity and authenticity of their cuisine. He was the only Florida chef selected.

“I feel like a winner being chosen out of thousands of chefs,” Arpke said.
