An Apple store is coming to Sarasota, but its specific location is yet to be announced.

On its jobs website, Apple lists Sarasota as one of 23 sites for stores in Florida with job openings. No specific job post or location is listed, but the future Mall at University Town Center could be a potential location.

Officials from Apple have not returned inquiries. Officials from the mall's co-owner Taubmen Centers, which is handling leasing, could not confirm if Apple would be coming to the new shopping destination.

Sarasota does not currently have an Apple store.

The nearest Apple stores are at International Plaza in Tampa, another Taubman Centers' property, Westfield's Brandon Town Center and at Coconut Point Mall in Estero. Locally-owned Apple resellers and service providers include Apple Core and Computer Advantage, in Sarasota.

Confirmed tenants to the $315 million Mall at University Town Center, set to open in October, include Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Dillard's and American Eagle Outfitters.

Restaurants coming to the mall, which is being developed in a joint partnership by Taubman Centers and Benderson Development, include Brio Tuscan Grille and Seasons 52.
