Students at The Out-of-Door Academy are tackling hunger one sandwich at a time.

All Faiths Food Bank is the beneficiary of the 2016 Peanut Butter and Jelly Competition held by The Out-of-Door Academy April 1. The food drive is part of the school’s participation in All Faith’s Campaign Against Summer Hunger, a 40-day funding and donation drive that runs through May 15.

With the resources raised from the campaign, All Faiths Food Bank will expand summer programs throughout its service area by increasing capacity at its Mobile Pantries and Sprout Mobile Farm Market. It also will work closely with the Sarasota County School District and Library System. The Food Bank’s more than 100 agency partners will also be able to increase their food distribution capacity through the entire summer.

Donations made before May 15 will be matched up to $600,000 thanks to donations from private and corporate investors.
