About the position: The Observer has an immediate opening for an assistant editor for its social and philanthropic section, Black Tie. Black Tie is part of our Diversions section. The Black Tie assistant editor reports to the managing editor of Diversions.

Job details: The Black Tie assistant editor produces content for our Black Tie section, which is our social and philanthropic section. This person writes our weekly social column; writes long- and short-form profiles on prominent people in the social and philanthropic community; writes a "Who, What, Wear" fashion blog on our website; writes our online "Black Tie Untied" column detailing the best-of-the-best from weekly events; writes our "Day/Night" fashion column; takes photos and videos at all the social events around town; and generally has their pulse on all the social ins and outs in our area. This position is a great opportunity for a reporter/photographer who is passionate about these topics and is ready to jump in and make it their own.

Digital Marketing Consultant

Digital Marketing Consultants (DMCs) will have strong business development sales experience and a proven track record of establishing consultative business relationships. The right candidate will have a sales hunter mentality and will be skilled in prospecting and cold calling, proposal development and presentation closing agreements, post-sell performance monitoring and capturing up-sell opportunities to achieve sales goals. DMCs will be digitally savvy and will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and high level of self-motivation. If you envision yourself as having a passion for helping local businesses succeed with digital media solutions, this is a job for you. 

We are looking for energetic individuals who can help us strategically and creatively build the business from the ground up. DMCs will offer high-end solutions including social media marketing, online promotions, mobile and desktop Web site solutions, SEO, SEM, online display and video advertising and targeted digital database marketing. 

This position is part technology ambassador, part small business marketing consultant and part professional sale representative. We are looking for committed professional sellers with a record of success in their careers who can identify great prospects and win business.
